Dax and Cess both are doctors so I was a bit surprised when they told me that they wanted a '20s-themed prenup shoot. Themed shoots are a form of positive escapism and I was pleased when they told me about the theme. Being a sucker of film photography and everything retro, I thought to myself "Ah, this is right up my alley!"

At the same time, I also was a little concerned about things like make up, hair, the location and the styling (I started out with fashion, so these things naturally come to my mind pretty naturally). I have to say that everything went quite smoothly. This shoot required a bit of acting - and Dax and Cess were game. They were also veerrry nice and patient. (Love the dancing, Cess!)  ^^ We also got help from our friends from Aisle 1401 (Thank you, Anna, John and Drei). This was one for the books and I love it!

I always make sure to have a positive disposition whenever I have a photography assignment. It is one of my top personal requirements. Mon and Elle just made it far easier for me to laugh and joke around between frames. To be honest, though, we were all praying for sun the whole time 'cause the weather seemed a bit unpredictable - Thank God for hearing our prayers! Mon and Elle reminded me so much of my longtime friends. They were cool, funny and nice. And if that didn't make me feel lucky enough to be working that day - our friends from Aisle 1401 joined the fun and shot a Save The Date video for them. Their presence made the whole shoot a more special one. Shout outs to everyone who participated in the shoot. I had a buh-last!

Nico and Gie are friends of mine. I knew them from my fashion background so I know that it'd be quite easy to shoot the two of them (i.e. not having to give too many instructions, etc.) if I were to shoot solo portraits of them, of course. :-) This being a prenup shoot, I wanted the images to be all about the chemistry and the moments and I was concerned about everything being too posed. I am just glad that we were all able to find a balance. ^^

I wouldn't mind doing this shoot all over again if I were to bring back time. We had a lot of fun doing this shoot - probably too much fun! I see myself laughing at the outtakes. This was a memorable ride. :-)
